First let me say thank you to all of you who visited, commented, and entered the giveaway for my 100th post! I have pulled a name out the “hat” and the winner is at the bottom of this post!
I am happy to be joining Susan at Between Naps on the Porch for Metamorphosis Monday. I don’t participate very often except to visit, but I was roped into this one. You may remember that Sunshine, our only daughter, got married last June. Hubby had to go away on business and Beloved was busy, so she invited me for a girl night. When I think of “girl night” I envision this and this
But alas, it began with this
and this
I wish I could tell you that Sunshine and I planned and researched for weeks before starting our project. The truth is we are much more like this team
She picked out a color that was actually on the wall at Sherwin Williams-wheatgrass :). I picked out the other bedroom color from one I had seen at a friend's house-camel back. We painted ALL WEEKEND and finished two bedrooms.
This is the guest bedroom. It was empty when she moved in. Sunshine added her own touch with a little Pottery Barn bedding in bright colors she loves. We added Target shades and nightstand. Her in laws are coming for a few days for the Thanksgiving holidays, so we thought it was a good time to spruce it up.
This room will hereafter be referred to as the Wheatgrass In Law Suite :). We painted the master bedroom camel back, hung curtains, and waxed hardwood floors…I don’t have the strength to show you….I will tell you camel back is much more attractive in my hair than wheatgrass is in hers :). Now, on to more important things! Tonight I gathered all the names for the giveaway. I was careful to count each one the proper number of times.
Then I swished and I swirled as much as my exhausted muscles would allow. And I pulled out

Susan, the in-law's room looks so pretty. Love the wall color and the bedding. I bet after that, you need a REAL girl's night out! But I bet y'all did do some laughing and chatting while painting, so it probably was a lot of fun. Congratulations to your prize winner. Loved your reference to Lucy and Ethel. I never paint without getting some in my hair. laurie

You both did a wonderful job on that room. I love the colours and that bedspread from pottery barn is stunning.
ReplyDeleteWhat a wonderful mother you are!
Best wishes, Natasha.
The in-law room looks beautiful, but I honestly didn't know that anyone waxed hardwood floors anymore. I can still remember my mother on her hands and knees waxing our floors with Johnson's paste wax. Maybe that's why she covered those beautiful floors with carpet years ago.
ReplyDeleteHi Susan, the in-laws are going to love the room, it turned out beautifully! Loved your post and congratulations to Niki on being a winner.
ReplyDeleteHave a great week, Bonnie
I can relate to all of the girl's weekend , except the sushi... yuck! sorry! Congrats to your lucky winner. Have a blessed day!

Just another reason to be checking out these wonderful blogs. My painter is coming this morning, expecting me to have the name and number of the paint for our walls. He uses Sherwin-Williams. I am so up in the air about the color.. but this Wheatgrass looks really promising! Isn't that amazing. We'll see. I'm sure a test area will help me to decide.
ReplyDeleteHave a great day.

ReplyDeleteHi Susan :) Some of the ways to keep the narcissus from falling over are plant them deeper and put a capful of rubbing alcohol in the water every time you add water, use a wire ring (Like in one of my photos) I used a tomato steak that I cut with wire cutters and spray painted, You can also plant them in a tall vase... I do three like that and place them on my buffet. They are on the table in my mosaic. Have fun!
