Recently I came across two relatively new and definitely new to me blogs—both by celebrities. But these are not the usual celebrity blogs. First is Catalog Living by actress and comedian Molly Erdman. You may know her best for her role in these Sonic commercials.
This is a fun tongue-in-cheek blog that she calls a “a look into the exciting lives of the people who live in your catalogs". Molly has created Gary and Elaine a fictional couple who inhabit these “stylish” rooms. There are comments and conversations that look like this:
Elaine was not amused by Gary’s passive-aggressive response to her request to “garnish the cocktails”.
I love her sense of humor and it’s fun to “lighten up”! Molly Erdman makes me laugh out loud! You can find Catalog Living here.
Gwyneth Paltrow also has a weekly newsletter blog. She and her elegant mother Blythe Danner are both favorites of mine.
The symbols stand for the categories she covers: Make, Go , Get, Do, Be, and See. According to the site she will be sharing recipes (with pictures!), personal travel notes, and advice she gets and follows. The newsletter is full of information both practical and informative. You can find Goop here.
I think you’ll find both of these blogs fun, interesting and down to earth :) Let me know what you think.
Wow, those look like fun, thanks for sharing! Gonna go look at them....I'll let you know what I think...happy fourth!
ReplyDeleteI think the 'catalogue' blog is a riot. I wish I could figure out how to follow it. I spend a while reading and reading and laughing my head off. I will never look at a catalogue the same way again! Thanks.
ReplyDeleteI have seen the "Catalog Living" blog and check it out on occasion (funny!). I have shook my head many times how the rooms are set up - especially if you have children or pets in the home. I bookmarked "Goop" but have not visited it just yet. Thanks for the info..
ReplyDeleteHave a great weekend & Happy 4th!
Fun...thanks for broadening my blog categories. Now I have to add a Misc Blogs folder to my bookmarks...
ReplyDeleteI love anything that takes the stoic, deadpan, haughtiness out of life and the design that surrounds it...
ReplyDeletefor if we aren't breathing, living, sitting...petting dogs...(etc)
then is it really home?
Two thumbs up, I say!!!
Thanks for the info on these blogs. I just read all of the posts of Catalog Living, and it was so funny. Thanks.
ReplyDeleteD
I heard someone mention that catalog one recently, but I hadn't checked it out. Now, I will. I love to laugh at the ordinary. It's one of my favorite things.
ReplyDeleteAnd of course, I'll have to check out the other one too!
