Quothe the Raven “Nevermore”

CIMG2950

Once upon a midnight dreary…. A lifelong admirer of the works of Edgar Allen Poe, I knew that I had to make this raven tree the moment I saw it. I made it last year for the breakfast room, but I decided to put it in the foyer this year.

I used one of those leftover reception urns, floral foam, Spanish moss, a branch from the yard, black spray paint, and Dollar Tree crows and a spider.

And the raven never flitting, still is sitting,

still is sitting…..

  14. Susan, seeing this reminds me of an English project I did in the tenth grade. It was an homage to Poe, and I borrowed my father's black crow decoy to use and covered a wig head in modeling clay for the pallid bust of Pallas. The only problem is our teacher KEPT our projects. And oh, my dad was furious! He kept saying, "What on earth does that woman want with me decoy???" I made an A on the project, but my dad was out his crow. LOL!

Love your raven tree. Too bad they didn't have my favorite store Dollar Tree back then! ;-)

    XO,

    Sheila :-)
