What a great post -- my father served in WW I -- and the poppies were important to him (and he always called it Decoration Day) -- if you ever get to Kansas City, there is the national WW I museum there which is totally awesome! (and to get into the museum from the visitor's center you walk over a field of poppies!

    Thanks for the sentimental post -- I do love that poem!
